Paragon Europe is seeking to recruit an EU Programmes Manager.

With an average annual participation in over 250 collaborative projects and with a success rate comparable to the foremost European Universities, Paragon Europe has established itself with global and European credentials in the field of research and innovation projects.

The Role

Working closely and reporting to the Director of Projects, the ideal candidate will be responsible for a number of related projects and their respective teams. The main tasks are to oversee the activities of the team that is the development of new projects and consortia under H2020 and other EU funding programmes ensuring the proper management of ongoing projects according to the standards of EU funded projects.

In this position you will be expected to work alongside senior management to implement new business leads and to ensure that these leads will result in concrete opportunities for the company. Implement change where and when required; manage project risk and demonstrate strong ability that is you need to show your ability to be able to  motivate and ensure that project teams deliver on time and within budget; create and maintain a harmonious team environment and recruit new team members as may be required and in line with the individual project requirements and company strategy.

Our projects are implemented within particular geographical contexts, hence the role also requires that you are able to build in the local context, new networks, engage with stakeholders and ensure that stakeholders participate fully in the different projects’ activities.

Profile Requirements

The ideal candidate must possess the following:

  • A keen interest to work in a dynamic, cutting edge environment – where innovation is an intrinsic part of the job
  • Post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline. Preferred areas include management, engineering, or finance
  • 5 years+ of demonstratable experience of working with EU funding programmes such as H2020 and /or other donors
  • Good oral, written and presentation skills in English, Maltese or another European language such as French or Dutch would be an asset.
  • People Management Skills
  • Ability to manage risks associated with project life cycle
  • Fund- raising experience
  • Demonstratable sources of Public Funds is a must. Private Fund raising would be an asset.
  • Ability to travel on project meetings
  • Ability to work in Malta
